Ekaterina ARISTOVA

Painter

Ekaterina Aristova is an artist painter of Russian origin. Born in Moscow, she lives and works in Paris.

Aristova began her career as a figurative painter and draftsman working a lot from live models and from life (en plein air). Her first personal exhibition took place in Paris at Gallery 21, 21 rue Dauphine 75006 (Saint-Germain-des-Prés) in July 2016. The series Dance with me brings first commercial success.

But focusing more and more on her inner thoughts and feelings influenced by world's issues , she develops her own approach in abstract art.

The series Reflections by Ekaterina Aristova evokes philosophical questions (such as the mystery of time, life and death, the feeling of fear, the soul, love, freedom) that she has tendency to express itself in her works through the strong influence of music. She develops the theory of the Unconscious art at contemporary art scene.

During her exhibition on December 10, 2021, she presents her manifesto of "Unconscious Art" and thus launches the new movement. The exhibition got the attention of the press, art historians, collectors and art market professionals.

Since 2022 Aristova works with eyes closed realising under the music influence an abstract drawing with a charcoal on linen, observing it afterwards consciously and looking for figurative forms and senses in abstract chaos. She finishes artworks with oil painting usually giving her interpretation in names of artworks.

Aristova is known as "the painter of the Soul" (Beaux Arts Magazine , 2021).

Her work is featured in numerous press publications.

Ekaterina Aristova exhibits regularly in France and worldwide (NYC, Rome, Madrid etc).
